TV's David Groh, who played 'Rhoda' ex, dies
David Groh, the actor who played Rhoda Morgenstern's husband Joe on the sitcom "Rhoda," has died of kidney cancer. He was 68. Groh left the series after the TV divorce then went on to appear in dozens of TV shows, films and appeared on Broadway, over the next 30 years.

'Crow' actress arrested on shoplifting suspicion
 Bai Ling, who plays on "The Crow" was arrested for shoplifting two magazines and two packets of batteries, items that had valued at $16. The actress was detained by an employee who called police. She was booked for shoplifting and released on a promise to appear in court on March 5.

About a Son, the documentary about Kurt Cobain is based on 25 hours of candid interviews. The only voice you hear throughout is Kurt Cobain's but you never clearly see his face until the end. The co-founder of Nirvana repeatedly talked to music journalist Michael Azerrad a year before committing suicide, a possibility Cobain willingly raised in the interviews.
Canadian folk singer Willie P. Bennett dead
Canadian folk singer Willie P. Bennett died from natural causes in Peterborough, Ont.The revered singer-songwriter was an integral part of this country's folk music scene. The band Blackie and The Rodeo Kings did a tribute album to him. The band itself was named after one of Bennett's songs.
Carpenters fans campaign to save family's LA home 
Fans of The Carpenters are trying to save their LA home from demolition. The house and annex became a magnet for fans when it was featured on the cover of their album "Now & Then." It is also where Karen Carpenter collapsed in her bedroom before dying of anorexia at the age of 32 in 1983.

'Jaws' actor Roy Scheider dies
Roy Scheider, best known for his role as a police chief in the blockbuster movie "Jaws," has died. He was 75. One of Scheider's most famous lines in the movie, "You're gonna need a bigger boat" was voted No. 35 on the American Film Institute's list of best quotes from U.S. movies.

Sick Kravitz admitted to hospital
Rock star Lenny Kravitz has been admitted to a hospital in Miami with severe bronchitis and has been suffering from a series of respiratory infections and flu since last month. A statement said he was checked into hospital "due to extreme dehydration and fatigue".

Ritter lawsuit goes to trial
A lawyer for John Ritter's family told a jury that doctors caused the actor's death by an improper diagnosis and substandard treatment. Ritter died of a tear in the aorta, known as an aortic dissection but was mistakenly treated for a heart attack. They are suing two doctors for $67 million.

The Writers Guild of America moved toward ending its 3 month-old strike, with leaders recommending the contract be accepted and then to vote on a quick end to the walkout. If members support lifting the strike order, they could return to work as early as Wednesday.

Rebecca De Mornay gets probation for DUI
Rebecca De Mornay must serve three years' probation after a no-contest plea was entered on her behalf to a misdemeanor drunken driving charge. De Mornay was arrested October 30 after a traffic violation in Beverly Hills when officers smelled alcohol on her breath.

'Fugitive' star Morse dead at 89
British-Canadian actor-director Barry Morse, best known as the police detective who pursued Dr. Richard Kimble in the series "The Fugitive," has died at the age of 89. Morse was taken to hospital when he began having blackouts and falling down, he was there for three days before he died.

Spears hospital stay extended
Britney Spears' hospital stay for psychiatric evaluation has been extended for two weeks, according to media reports on Monday. Spears was hospitalized for a 72-hour evaluation. Her father and an attorney were granted temporary co-conservatorship over her affairs by a Los Angeles court.

'ET' won't run Ledger party video
Out of respect for Heath Ledger's family, Entertainment Tonight has decided not to run the video that shows the late actor at a party where drugs were apparently being taken. Ledger died on January 22 but the cause of death won't be known until after medical examiners complete toxicology tests.

'Montel' wrapping it up
Syndicated talk show host Montel Williams is being replaced by a younger version of himself. CBS Television Distribution announced Wednesday that "The Montel Williams Show" will cease production after this television season, his 17th on the air.

Survivor winner Richard Hatch, has lost his appeal against conviction of failing to pay tax on his $1m prize money. Marlon Brando's troubled son dies
Christian, son of the late Marlon Brando, has died of complications arising from pneumonia at the age of 49. He had been in a coma and on a ventilator. Brando's daughter Cheyenne committed suicide in 1995 after Christian killed her boyfriend Dag Drollet during a struggle with a gun.
