If you spend more than you actually have, it can catch up to you in very ugly ways as music man Wyclef Jean found out recently. The producer has had to go into foreclosure on a partially built Miami area mansion. Court documents show that the mortgage payments on the property are behind by $2 million. The property is going up for sale on December 12th. The real estate market is already in the crapper. Who would actually want to buy a house that isn’t even finished? I guess it’s time for Wyclef to crank out another hit or at least try to get Lauryn Hill out of retirement.
It looks like Janet Jackson is about to try her luck in Japan. Miss Nasty’s mystery illness has forced her to scrap 7 US Tour dates which supposedly count not be rescheduled due to conflicts. A new report has emerged though saying that she’s taking her show on the road to Japan. Janet is apparently set to do her first tour of Japan in 7 years in February 2009. She’ll do four dates in the country between February 14th and 22nd. Janet was having lots of difficulty selling tickets and filling arenas in America. Maybe she’s hoping to have better luck in Japan.
Alicia Keys wore high-waist jeans with suspenders for her performance yesterday in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. For the sake of being recognized as being fashionable and looking different these guys wearing anything and for me she is looking absurd.
A pair of jeans is always the coolest thing that one can use to dress up and low waist jeans is something that everyone used to showoff one’s waist line below the naval. Highwaisted jeans are for old ladies.
Never was a fan of high-waist jeans - no matter how attractive you are. And I’m sure there are hundreds if not thousands who think that she looks sloppy and really like grandma. Who ever is her stylist and especially the person who takes care of her wardrobe must immediately get himself/herself updated on the current fashion scenario.
Maybe Alicia needs to send that person to New York, Paris, London and Milan so that he can get acquainted with things like fashion sensibilities.
Rihanna is certainly known for her music abilities but is she ready to show off her acting chops? Sure, she had a cameo on the direct to DVD film ‘Bring it On 3’ but she just played herself for about 5 minutes. With ‘Gossip Girl’ creator Josh Schwartz about to create a younger version with its newest ‘X-Men’ installment, MTV believes that the 20-year old Barbadian beauty could follow in Halle Berry’s footsteps and be the next Storm. Rihanna is definitely that far off from Halle in terms of beauty and sexiness. I’ll definitely catch the movie if Rihanna plays Storm.
I guess Sasha really is fierce. According to HITS Daily Double, Beyonce’s new double disc ‘I Am…Sasha Fierce’ is said to be the #1 album by next week. She is expected to sell anywhere between 500,000 to 550,000 units of her album. That’s not good enough to match Taylor Swift’s sales though as the country singing cutie sold 592,000 copies of her latest album. If Beyonce does get number 1, it’s going to be a close call for #2 – either David Cook, Nickelback or Taylor. I hope Taylor beats the boys. Either way, it’s not going to be a bad week for any of the singers.
Brandy Norwood and singer/actor Tyrese Gibson were seen chumming around at Westfield mall in Century City, California last week. An eyewitness told Life & Style “They seemed very close. You could tell they were very much used to each other’s company. It looked like much more than a friendly relationship.” An insider also said “She’s obviously looking for love. But are they 100 percent dating? Not yet. Are they two very successful, gorgeous people who are hanging out a lot? Yes. You do the math.” Tyrese was quick to shut the rumors down though when he talked to Us Weekly saying “Brandy and I have been the best of friends since we were 14 years old. She’s one of the most talented friends I have. I would never date her - it would be like dating my sister. It was a simple lunch amongst friends. I love her like family but the rumors of us dating are really old.”
Queen of the World Rihanna has accomplished another impressive thing. According to Billboard, her album ‘Good Girl Gone Bad’ has produced 8 charted singles, with all of the singles doing amazingly well. That’s a huge thing considering some people are lucky to get two hit songs off an album. The last person to do Rihanna’s charting was Shania Twain when her album ‘Come on Over’ produced 8 hits from 1997-1999. Rihanna was able to crank out 8 in less time than Shania though as the Barbadian babe just took 1 year and 7 months. ‘Umbrella’ sat at #1 for 7 weeks in 2007. ‘Shut Up and Drive’ went to #15 the same year as well as ‘Hate That I Love You’ which went to #7. ‘Don’t Stop the Music’ went to #3 in 2008. ‘Take a Bow’ was #1 for a week. Her collaboration with Maroon 5 ‘If I Never See Your Face Again’ was at #51. Disturbia was #1 for 2 weeks and ‘Rehab’ is at #91 to date.
TRL has gone and said goodbye but they made sure that they left an impression. Beyonce opened up the show by singing ‘Single Ladies’ and ‘Crazy in Love’. Carson Daly and Damien Fahey took to the stage to host a bit before a clip of Miley Cyrus was shown. Then Diddy took to the stage to talk about TRL. Ben Stiller and Christina Aguilera also had clips for TRL before they went to Fall Out Boy performing on a huge stage out in Times Square. Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez also did a mini reunion recollecting their NSYNC days. Kid Rock, TRL news correspondents, Snoop Dogg, Nelly, Ludacris, Vanessa Minnillo, Heidi Montag, Hilary Duff and many others showed up to say goodbye to the show. It sucked that some of the performances were pre-taped though.
The famous 90’s band No Doubt will reunite and do a tour in the coming future and former lead singer, Gwen Stefani is very excited about it, even though she recently gave birth to a new child. She had this to say: “I don’t think we should wait. Pack up the babies and get a bunch of nannies. So fun! Would be so inspiring to get out there and play all those songs again.” Right… well, looks like Gwen will probably make a great mom. Well, no matter, maybe her heart-breaker son will get to go a bit wild while his mom is on tour, might do his talents a world of good.
Kanye West has taken to his blog to address his most recent arrest in the UK for allegedly assaulting a member of the paparazzi. For the sake of those with sensitive eyes, I typed parts of his blog post in the friendly style instead of his angry caps. In his account the rapper said “When I left the club, I was encountered by a thirsty paparazzi as usual. He felt he had more rights to my space than me so I put my hand up to prevent him from taking my image. I didn’t assault him but merely putting my hand up to cover his lens. My security yelled ‘get the camera off him.’ I guess in all the commotion the camera scraped his nose.”
It looks like 50 Cent’s new album ‘Before I Self Destruct’ has lived up to its title. The record has went off only to self destruct. The CD has now been pushed back to 2009 without a specific release date being set. The record was originally set to come out in early December to hopefully capitalize on holiday buying but after the kickoff single tanked, it’s now getting kicked to the curb. I say we should blame Scott Storch for producing the embarrassment of a first single ‘Get Up’. The official reason being given for the album’s delay is that the rapper was rushing to meet the December date but that he opted to wait until next year to fully secure advertising and retail placement.

Living beyond your means will get you no where.

Wyclef reportedly had no comment.
He better have another hit if he wants to build another house.
Usher is waiting for the time till Christmas arrive for at that time he is expecting the birth of second child which he say will make the “best Christmas present ever”.
Really welcoming your child into the world during the celebrations of Christmas would add so much joy to one’s world.
Usher said: “I’m so proud to be a father before I reached 30. I’d hate to be 80 years old and not be able to run with my kids. I need to still be able to do flips when they’re in high school!”
Tameka on the other hand had this to say about their first baby Usher Raymond Vsaid: “He’s like a hyper baby - he’s crawling so fast! He stands up, and he’s walking around the table… it’s amazing to watch him. I’ve never seen a baby crawl so fast! I call him Dash, like on ‘The Incredibles’!” Wish them all the luck and certainly the second one will bring them even more joy and happiness.
Brandy has been spotted shooting a music video for her new single ‘Long Distance’. YouTube currently hosts an audio of the song. The 29-year old Grammy award winning singer is coming back with her first album since 2004 and it is set to debut on December 9. The album is called ‘Human’ and is said to be her most personal album to date. The collection of songs includes her hit single ‘Right Here (Departed)’ as well as the upcoming single ‘Long Distance’. Let’s hope that she gets back on track with this album and show us that she was worth giving a Grammy to.
Beyonce will be helping out NBC to kick off the holiday season on Wednesday, December 3 at 8-9PM ET/PT with the lighting of the world’s most famous Christmas tree during the 11th annual Christmas in Rockefeller Center telecast. Today’s Al Rocker will be the host for the live holiday celebration of the 76th Tree Lighting Ceremony. The star studded annual tree lighting extravaganza will also have performances of current hits and classics from the likes of David Cook, Jonas Brothers, Faith Hill, Tony Bennett, Neil Boyd, Harry Connick Jr., Rosie O’Donnell and the Broadway Kids, Rascal Flatts and Solange Knowles.
Kanye West really needs to be knocked down a peg or maybe even a thousand pegs. Did it ever once cross your mind that the rapper is the musical equivalent of Michael Jordan? Never? I thought so. But in Kanye’s mind, he is. In a new interview, Kanye said “I realize that my place and position in history is that I will go down as the voice of this generation, of this decade, I will be the loudest voice. It’s me settling into that position of just really accepting that it’s one thing to say you want to do it and it’s another thing to really end up being like Michael Jordan.”
Extremists always ruin things for everyone else. Rihanna ended up canceling a concert in Jakarta, Indonesia last Friday over security concerns. The Barbadian babe heard a travel advisory warning people that there may be violence in the country after the recent executions of three Islamic militants convicted in the 2002 Bali bombings and decided not to move forwarded with the tour stop. The executed men had called on followers to carry out revenge attacks if their deaths went ahead. Indonesian show organizers said that they hoped that Rihanna would consider coming back to Jakarta in January. If the violence stops, maybe she can consider that.
