Logotypes
These two logotypes are drawn by hand - and are for a school project. The first one are for an old school ice company called Slurp and the second are for a consultant-coaching business called Kapabel which means “capaple”

Elle Website school assignment
This week’s project at school: Elle Magazine has launched in Denmark 3 months ago, but still needs a website. The editor in chief gave a short brief, and we had about a week for the task. I ended up with this, which, I must admit, isn’t the Elle-look at all, besides the fact that I use the logo and Futura:)
I’m not good at designing that whole black/white/graphic minimalistic look, so I ended up making the design a bit to web/soft/fluffy. But that aside, I kinda like the design, just not for Elle - but maybe a less fashion-minded women’s magazine?
Welcome!
The main site should always have a large photo, showing of the latest fashion trend. The image seeker below the photo, is meant as an inspirational feature. If you type in “autumn”, “red bag” or “romantic” you should get a bunch of photos which can inspire your own style.
Below is the standard news boxes representing each part of the website (fashion, shopping, beauty and lifestyle).

Find your way
The menu is a fly-out menu, which is based on both pictures and text - the readers loves pictures, I’ve been told.

Dig deeper
The subsite of shopping - the menu stay’s open, there’s breadcrumbs and a left menu navigation, so one should be able to find one’s way around! Otherwise it’s commen web magazine - the important articles on the top, and the less important in the bottom. In the right menu you’re able to view the most viewed articles, and you can also comment on articles.
Oh, and there’s rss on everything - I love rss, and you should be able to chose. So you can chose e.g. only shopping news, or only news ine the blog.

Lookbook - inspire yourself
This is the lookbook - which you can access from allover the site, when clicking an image with a + on it - or one of the pictures on the main site in the image seeker. You can save all images in your private lookbook, learn where to buy the clothes, and get suggestions to other clothes which maybe interest you. Very web 2.0.

Oh my - bags, bags bags
This could be my lookbook (I dig bags!). You can save all the lookbooks you want. And print them or share them with friends. Nice, huh?

Blog design mock-ups
These mock-ups are for a school assignment in Digital Publications. The top: A blog design for a gadget-mac interested thirty-something male. The lower are for the arty-farty in-clubbing-crowd in their 20ies who digs Copenhagen nightlife.

Elves in 50ies pin-up style

These elves sketches were made for what we in Denmark call ‘kravlenisser’ I just never got around to finishing more than one. They’re supposed to have small paper flaps on their feet so you can cut them out and stick them on shelves and stuff like that. Weird Danish christmas tradition…

Company Christmas Cards
The main reason for me not posting anything remotely interesting these days is the fact that I’m caught up in a school project. We are rasing money for our study trip by selling company christmas cards, and we do have a lot of smashing beuatiful designs! View them all at whatwhat.dk/julekort.
If you work in a company who uses company christmas cards, then why not chose one of ours? We are very competitive when it comes to the prize - and you get a truly different and unique design made by young creative designers! We costumize the card accordingly to your logo and design, print and deliver on your address - couldn’t be any easier.
Do write me at mail (a) malenehald dk if you want to know more, or think your company could use this cards.

Argh! Studid wordpress…
I’ve recently learned, that the comments function on my blog sucks - it doesn’t work. I can’t seem to find the error, which is pretty darn annoying, since I haven’t got the time to fix the bloody thing at the moment. Work and school seems to work together to take me down this week!
If you have any comments or suggestions for my study trip, please mail me at malenehald a gmail com or mail a malenehald dk (hope you get the replace a with @ and insert a dot when necessary:)

Where should we go?
As a part of the education, my class and I are going for a field trip/study trip spring 2009. We’re aiming for either New York, San Fransciso, Los Angeles, Tokyo or Buenos Aires - but which one should we chose?
It any of your clever people out there know of a company we should visite, a cool show to catch a museum or exhibition we definitly should go see - please leave a comment, it would be really helpful.
