When more is better
By Christian Drapeau
We know that StemEnhance increases the number of circulating stem cells, but people may wonder… What is the advantage of having more stem cells in one’s bloodstream? The simple answer is: This could be one of the greatest strategies for optimal health.
Over the past two years, a number of studies have shown that a greater number of circulating stem cells equated to greater cardiovascular health. Let’s look at these studies in a little more detail.
In 2001, Vasa et al reported that compared to healthy individuals, people with cardiovascular problems had fewer endothelial progenitor cells in their bloodstream. These cells are commonly called EPC’s, and are a type of stem cells responsible for the development of new blood vessels. The study also demonstrated that the EPC’s isolated from people with cardiovascular problems showed a lesser ability to migrate in tissues. In addition, the Vasa group reported that smokers also had fewer EPC’s in their blood.
In 2004 Schmidt-Lucke et al measured the number of EPC’s in the bloodstream of 120 individuals (43 controls and 77 individuals at risk for cardiovascular problems), and simply observed these individuals for ten months. At the end of this time, the authors reported that a reduced number of circulating EPC’s was linked to a poor prognosis in term of cardiovascular health.
The next year, in a similar but more extensive study, Werner et al measured the number of EPC’s in the bloodstream of 519 individuals, and observed these individuals for one year. At the end of the year, the study revealed that the number of circulating EPC’s directly correlated to the incidence of cardiovascular events. Overall, the people with more circulating EPC’ experienced fewer cardiovascular problems and, conversely, the people who had fewer EPC’s in their blood showed increased incidences of cardiovascular events.
Over the past two years, a number of studies have allowed scientists to understand why more stem cells in the bloodstream equates to greater cardiovascular health. Historically, scientists have believed that new blood vessels are formed from the sprouting of existing capillaries, a process called angiogenesis. However, scientists have shown recently that new blood vessels can also be formed from circulating EPC’s, a process called vasculogenesis, and that in fact, this might be the main mechanism of capillary development.
When a tissue has poor blood circulation, this leads to a lack of oxygen. When a tissue lacks oxygen, it releases compounds that accomplish two specific tasks:
1) attraction of EPC’s into the tissue, and 2) conversion of EPC’s into capillary cells. Therefore, whenever a tissue is lacking oxygen, a process is triggered whereby circulating stem cells migrate to the tissue and contribute to the development of new capillaries. This leads to greater delivery of oxygen and nutrients, thereby helping the tissue to maintain better health.
When we understand that poor oxygen and insufficient nutrient delivery to organs and tissues are two of the most common underlying causes for a wide variety of health problems, it is clear that increasing the number of circulating stem cells becomes one of the most valuable strategies for maintaining optimal health.
Exercise, recovery and StemEnhance
By Dr. Donna Antarr
As an exercise physiologist and a physician, I can tell you that exercise is essential to optimal health. According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the failure to exercise regularly is a significant precursor to heart disease, stroke, diabetes and cancer.
The American Heart Association (AHA) recommends at least 30 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity on most days of the week. In a non-athlete, the key to sustaining optimal health is to balance the breakdown of the body with the renewal of the body. As you all know, this is where the natural renewal system of our own adult stem cells comes into play and how StemEnhance supports this natural system.
In an athlete, however, this issue of balance is more complicated. For people who are working to improve their performance in a sport or if they are working toward competition — even amateur competitions — the situation is different. These people are considered athletes. For athletes, it is not enough merely to sustain the body’s health; an athlete’s body also needs extra support for recovery.
What does an athlete do that causes them to need extra support for recovery? In trying to improve, the athlete places demands on the body that are greater than those experienced by the nonathlete. Even “weekend athletes” place extra demands on their bodies. What’s more, if you are a “couch potato” who decides to begin to exercise by the AHA guidelines, you are also doing more activity than your body is accustomed to. Once again, the issue of recovery comes into play.
Both “weekend athletes” and reformed “couch potatoes” are doing what is — by all accounts — good for you. Nevertheless, most every one of these people has experienced muscle soreness after exercise or sport. In medical terms, this discomfort is called “delayed onset muscle soreness” (DOMS), and is thought to be a result of microscopic tearing of the muscle fibers. The amount of tearing (and soreness) depends on how hard and how long a person exercises and what type of exercise he or she does. Any movement you are not used to can lead to DOMS.
In addition to small muscle tears, there can be associated swelling in a muscle, which may contribute to
soreness. The weekend athlete limps in on Monday morning because of these microscopic tears that cause loss of muscle strength, flexibility and power. As the body repairs these microscopic tears, we become stronger. This is recovery. How quickly and how effectively an athlete’s body can recover affects his/her ability to train without getting injured.
Whether you are an athlete, a weekend athlete, or a rather sedentary sort who has decided to get off the couch
to improve your health, your body needs extra support to help with recovery.
This is where StemEnhance becomes so valuable for everyone who is exercising to any level. We know that by supporting the body’s natural renewal system, we will support this natural process of recovery from exercise to build strength and stamina.
Make StemEnhance a part of your daily regimen, and support your body’s natural recovery system. Whatever your exercise profile, StemEnhance is the best “exercise partner” you can have!
StemTech Jamaica Launched: Natural Stem Cell release in a Supplement
By Matt Canham
Stem cell science remains the fastest growing medical/scientific discovery of the millennium for good reason — stem cells have been shown to become any of the different cell types in the body. As the primary way to revitalize and repair, a single stem cell can become millions of other healthy cells once it has migrated into that tissue.
Launch
StemTech Health Sciences Inc, a San Clemente, CA based company has created a new product category called stem cell enhancers. Their main products are StemEnhance for humans, StemPets for dogs and StemEquine for horses. Responding to many requests, the company launched StemTech Jamaica at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel on April 6, 2008.
At the launch, users of the product noted how effective it has been for them. One woman said she had lost some of her bodily functions which made even basic kitchen tasks difficult. However, since she began taking StemEnhance, she felt like her old self again. This echo’s the most common testimony from people which involves renewal — what was once a source of pain is now no longer there.
An elderly man also revealed that before taking the product, he was physically unable to dress himself. Since taking StemEnhance however, he has been able to do so.
First of its kind
The StemTech management team explained to attendees of the launch that the product is the first of its kind, has been clinically tested and the research published in a peer reviewed Medical Journal. They explained how a natural botanical extract in the right concentration supports wellness by helping the body to maintain healthy stem cell physiology. They also revealed the extent of the popularity of the product among the baby boomer generation in the United States.
StemTech is currently open in six other countries and is rapidly gaining popularity as the wellness industry continues to grow. StemTech plans to be in 25 countries within 5 years and recently launched virtual global sign up to identify those countries with the greatest demand as the next to launch.
StemTech is also a company with compassion and views social responsibility as an important part of its mission. To this end StemTech Jamaica has donated funds to the Mustard Seed Communities and Special Olympics Jamaica since inception.

Train longer with less fatigue
Since she was 50, Kathy Jager has been a multi event competitor in Masters track, doing all the throwing events, jumping events and short distance running. For 3 years, she held the World Indoor record in the 60m dash. She is also a nurse, so when Frank Condon first introduced her to StemEnhance, she was skeptical. She says, “I wondered, how good could this little green capsule be?” But she figured it could not hurt, so she tried StemEnhance.
Withing a short time, “I was amazed at it’s effectiveness,” Kathy says. “My energy level was way up, so I could train longer with less fatigue.” These days she trains 3 to 4 days a week alongside young athletes at a junior college, and she also plays soccer on a multi-age team. Since StemEnhance, Kathy says, “on the soccer field, I’m fast. If you’re faster, they can’t catch you.” Recently, Kathy outdid even her own expectations in the pole vault, which is not an easy event at any age, when she improved her personal best with a jump of 8 feet, 6 inches!
She explains, “getting older doesn’t mean we can’t set our sights on getting better. With the help of StemEnhance, I dream big dreams.”
Kathy emphasizes that training “takes a lot out of you” at any age, but StemEnhance seems to help her maintain her rigorous training regimen with greater success and shorter recovery time. “If you can train more without beating yourself up,” she says, “you get better!”
Running track
You may have seen or heard Nolan Shaheed playing the trumpet with greats like Marvin Gaye, but you may not know that he is also a record holding runner who loves StemEnhance. These days when he is not playing in a nightclub or working in the studio laying down musical tracks, Nolan is out on the running track, training for his next competition. He currently holds the World indoor record in the 800m, 1500m and mile in both the men’s 55+ and Men’s 50+ age groups. In 2007, he was named Male Masters Athlete of the year.
“I train everyday,” Nolan says, explaining, “I do about 12 miles a day of 200m repeats and mile repeats, so it’s pretty intense.” He has used StemEnhance over the last 2 years, but became even more dedicated to the product about 8 months ago. “I had a very hard competition coming up in the National Championships,” he says, “and I usually don’t do well in those races, so I made sure to take StemEnhance.” During the big race, he says, “I ran fast, faster than ever, and I said to myself, “what did I do different? It must be the StemEnhance!”
But the story doesn’t end there…At the World Championships, Nolan took 2 golds and a silver — winning his second race only an hour after setting a record in the 300m. Nolan was amazed: “I shouldn’t have been able to do a double like that,” he says, adding “it must be the StemEnhance. It’s given me the edge…again!”
Marathon runner
It is quite a challenge to train for and participate in 2 prestigious marathons in one year, but that is the course Kristin Asadourian set for herself 2 years ago. When she told her brother in law Mark Persekian that she was experiencing swelling of the knees after practice runs, Mark drew on his own experiences as a runner and suggested she try StemEnhance. “I lived for over 2 years with chronic discomfort after exercising,” Mark told Kristin, “but with StemEnhance, I’m back running again.”
Taking Mark’s advice, Kristin added StemEnhance to her daily regimen. “After about a month, I could tell that it was working,” she says. “I could train longer and longer without the discomfort I had been experiencing before StemEnhance.” Kristin went on to run in both the Boston and the New York marathons that year and the next, and she has run in marathons in Long Beach, Los Angeles and Vancouver as well…all with no recurrence of the knee discomfort she endured while training before StemEnhance. “I would say that StemEnhance is indispensable to a runner. I would not train without it!”
Weight events
A firefighter and paramedic, Jim Wetenhall has a demanding physical job. That would be enough for some people, but Jim also competes locally and nationally in the weight events of Track and Field, specializing in the hammer and discus and also competing in the Weight Pentathlon that includes five weight events. He currently holds the World Record in the hammer throw and US records in several weight events.
At 54, Jim says that he still gets sore after hard training workouts and competitions, but “my recovery is good.” I really like StemEnhance, and I wouldn’t consider not taking it. He admits that he is more tired after workouts as he ages, but has no plans to stop training. He says, “I’ll be working out my entire life, so I know I will always take StemEnhance.
Kathy Wetenhall is also a competitor in weight events, holding the US record in the bench press for her age/weight group. Kathy was the first Wetenhall to notice a dramatic improvement in her training with StemEnhance: she says, “after less than 6 weeks, I felt so much better after workouts. StemEnhance allows me to build up my body’s endurance and let’s me recover quickly. It’s a great product!”
Masters and Senior Class Athletes
Frank Condon has added some very significant record performances in Track and Field to his already impressive list of records. “Last year,” he says “I shattered the US Outdoor record in the mile, beating the old time by ten seconds. That old record had stood for 37 years!” Frank wins and breaks records regularly in the Masters and Senior track competitions here and abroad, competing in both indoor and outdoor events. This year, he says he plans to “rewrite the record in the mile, go for the 800m indoor record and cut the time in the 4 x 400m relay.” noting that he and his 3 teammates already hold the World Record for the relay, “but we can do better.”
Jan Condon’s work as an occupational therapist with home health care patients no longer leaves her time for competitions, but she still maintains an athletic regimen. “I do ashtanga yoga 3 to 4 days a week and I do hatha yoga with a group,” she says, adding “I also run 2 or more miles 3 to 4 times a week.” Jan says she never considered herself a world class athlete, “but I was a good, solid competitor in the 200m and 400m runs.” Once she has more time for training, she plans to get back into racing. “When I retire, I’ll pick it up again,” she says.
Both Frank and Jan are sold on StemEnhance as an indispensable part of any athletic regimen. Frank says, “since StemEnhance, my recovery time during training has been cut in half…and I hear the same thing from all of the competitors on the Senior circuit who are taking StemEnhance. They wouldn’t train without it!”
StemPets and StemEquine
By Christian Drapeau
The secret is out! StemTech introduces StemPets for dogs and StemEquine for horses. And, let me tell you, the many people who have tested the new products in product trials can hardly contain their excitement.
As they do in humans, adult stem cells reside in animals’ bone marrow, where they are released whenever there is a problem somewhere in the body. Looking back on stem cell research, we realize that most studies have been done with animals, mostly with mice, but also with dogs, horses, pigs, sheep and cattle. These studies have revealed that animal stem cells conduct themselves the same way human stem cells do. When there is an injury or a stress to an organ of your beloved pet or horse, compounds are released that reach the bone marrow and trigger the release of stem cells. These stem cells then travel to tissues and organs in need of help to regain optimal health.
StemPets and StemEquine are specially formulated stem cell enhancers created to be a delectable treat for your animal. The pet chewables and equine blends make it easy to provide your animals with this valuable nutritional supplement. For dogs, depending on the size of your companion, you simply give half or one full tablet of StemPets, which has a tasty dried beef and liver meal flavor. For horses, to the animal’s daily grain you add one scoop of scrumptious molasses-based blend StemEquine.
The experimental version of StemPets and StemEquine were shipped last fall to a small number of people who agreed to test the products for both palatability and efficacy. All I can say is that the results exceeded expectations! One of the best testimonials is that of a distributor who had been giving StemEnhance to her dog for several months with good benefits, but when she used StemPets, her dog reached yet another level of health. When considering all the people whom we sent samples of StemPets, the most common story is that of old, tired and sluggish dogs turned — within a week or so — into active, alert dogs running around like puppies.
The same was observed in horses. Old horses who used to remain standing in the barn or under a tree, sluggish or stricken by too much discomfort to walk around, suddenly began moving about, and at times running and bucking like young colts. One of the most common reports was obvious improvements in hoof health and coat appearance.
Though it is obvious that StemPets and StemEquine works, animal studies are currently being performed to quantify the number of stem cells in the blood of horses and dogs after consumption of StemPets and StemEquine, in order to further document the effects of the products with animal subjects.
We at StemTech are so pleased to offer all the animal lovers in the wide StemTech family a stem cell enhancers especially prepared for dogs and horses, so you can share the gift of health with your best friends. And in case you are wondering, we have not forgotten out feline companions. For now, you can give cats StemPets for dogs. Please be aware however, that StemPets for dogs may not be something a very finicky cat wants to eat. Soon we will have StemPets expecially formulated for cats, too I’ll keep you posted!
StemEquine: Judy Fisher, West Virginia
The horse you see here is the “after” picture of Little Joe, a small 18-year-old quarterhorse that Judy Fisher bought when he was nearly 400 pounds underweight. “You could count his ribs,” Judy says, remembering, “and his backbone stuck up like a ridge all along his back. He was very, very thin!” Little Joe also suffered from breathing problems that kept him lethargic and inactive. Vet-recommended remedies were unsuccessful in changing Little Joe’s physical problems, and the vet told Judy he didn’t expect Little Joe to live through the winter.
When Judy was asked to participate in StemTech’s animal product trials, she agreed. “I figured Little Joe was in such bad shape that anything was worth a try,” she says. She began giving the horse StemEquine with his feed and grain twice a day. Within a couple of weeks, Judy was surprised to see Little Joe beginning to gain weight and run, buck, snort and kick. His breathing was no longer labored and his skin and coat were improving. Within six weeks Little Joe’s overall appearance had changed dramatically. He had put on almost 300 pounds. “When his former owner came to visit,” Judy says, “he didn’t recognize Little Joe. That’s how different he looked!”
