Happy birthday to fiend and fellow Scorpios [info]elsinane and [info]curegrrlie, I am in fine company on this day.

I want to thank all of you who've sent Birthday wishes. They've helped to make this the best Birthday ever.

We had a fantastic time at the gorgeous home of Tom and Bella ([info]darklord_rising and [info]thedarklords this weekend past, their home is elegant and atmospheric, and their snake tanks are so gorgeous, I want some for when the Boas are bigger. I adore the gorgeous Fleur de lis box they gave me.

Having [info]lesetchka and [info]lechatnomade around gives a glimpse of what The Manor is going to be very soon, a true family of fiends, the true Slytherin House, there is so much we can do with it. I cannot wait to see what we can make of the garden next spring.

We are literally surrounded by lovely cards, and thanks to a wonderful store gift card, we now have a gorgeous electric blanket for those drafty nights at the Manor, and a new keyboard for My computer, as My slightly acidic sweat had worn off most of the letter on My other keyboard, which was as old as the hills anyway. I hate the soft squishy laptop style keys that seem to be ubiquitous, I an old school and need to have resistance, so We found a great keyboard for Me.

I have today off from the Ministry of Rare Medicinals to spend the day with My Favourite Dragon in the entire world, the [info]alabastardragon. Sleeping in was a wonderful gift in itself. 45 is not so bad, I don't feel a day over 25, and with age comes a gravity and presence hard earned, and some sort of wisdom, wisdom I am fortunate to be able to put into use.

[info]dixiebell12 created a special birthday photo manip for Us, and I think it's so good I just have to post it here today. She is truly amazing, and We are so honoured to be one of her favourite subjects, see My last post for details on her new DeviantArt site for more incredible works.

DeviantArt ! and a weekend to celebrate
[info]dixiebell12 did a tabloid style Quibbler, featuring [info]droxy and Yours truly evil. She's amazing with her manips, she is.

The Quibbler-Snape

The Quibbler-Malfoy

This is her DeviantArt page, go there and check out the rest of her stuff:

I also have a DeviantArt account, which I just remembered updated after having neglected the site since 2007. It's all Costuming photography right now, and photo credit given where known. I am there as LuciusM, here is My gallery, go see!

Something I found going around LJ, a video of a chorus of senior citizens with a very unlikely repetoire.

Senior choir getting crazy

We're heading off soon to the home of [info]darklord_rising and [info]thedarklords for an impromptu celebration, as we all have a lot to celebrate.

Tomorrow is the 16th, which marks 2 years five months since [info]alabastardragon has been here with Me, and I have Monday off as well, My Birthday, two wonderful Autumn days spent in the company of My Beloved Dragon. I used to dread Birthdays, but now I have so much to celebrate, so I do, and will. The 19 is another special day for Us, and next month, December 19, marks THREE years since We found each other in this life, which will make for the best Christmas ever. These three years have been the best years of My long life, and things are only getting better.

[info]lesetchka is here with Us right now, She brought Me some wonderful Birthday gifties, a gorgeous flask and frames portrait of Us, gift cards, as well as the most amazing card which plays the Imperial march upon opening *steeples fingers and plans evil things*. She is too amazing. In another wonderful anniversary, November this year marks one year since We all reconnected and We've been Family ever since. She is moving to Malfoy Manor with the new year, which pleases Me to no end. With the wonderful [info]lechatnomade here now, We'll all be together at The Manor as it's always been meant to be, My Family here.

I just found, come in the post, a beautiful silver Scottish Thistle brooch from [info]jadarene, Scottish thistle is indeed a very Malfoy thing to send, as she said in her beautiful note, and the words "Nemo me impune laecessit"-"no one provokes me with impunity". Thanks Jada!

Draco made Me the most beautiful card, it brought tears to My eyes, I can't stop looking st it and smiling. The icon above was taken shortly after He'd arrived on these shores, our first trip to the beach, taken by [info]tatiana422.

Oh yes, this is going down as a weekend to remember. I need no gifts, I already have My dream and greatest wish come true.

PhotoPost! ... from Hallowe'en, and King Richard's Faire
Hallowe'en meant a somewhat impromptu jaunt to Salem on Friday for the Malfoy Family, Me, Draco and Shaz as Narcissa for the first time (can't live in this house for long without going blonde!) ... [info]lesetchka - her first time as a marvelously crispy and stern Snape, and meeting up with good fiends [info]darklord_rising and [info]thedarklords, who live there and were eerie and fabulous as school age Tom Riddle and Bellatrix. Quite the formidable Slytherin HP Posse, enhanced by the white eyes of course ;-) Much fun was had in spite of the crowds, and with the crowds, at one point taking a Hermione hostage for a photo op, all sorts of havoc all night long, and of course, endless photo requests of course, so we made certain to take a few ourselves, see below the cut. People really get into it, and they do love their villains, some of the reactions we got were almost con worthy. The Joker was the popular costume of the night, though I only saw one that was really good, wish I'd snapped his photo. So much energy around that night ... it was difficult to sleep once home.

Some weeks back we descended upon King Richard's Renaissance Faire on the very last day and had a wonderful time, though it was cold and windy and we ended up leaving a little early. Had our pictures taken almost constantly, interacted with many people, friends and strangers alike, as we do. Hair braided due to the strong winds, I wore a magnificent and very warm and well weighted cloak hand made by Shaz, Draco had a gorgeous, elegant take on a piratish outfit, again with the long black hair, though I am disappointed to have no photo of Him in His finery. We'll have to redo the outfits for a photo shoot around here. Shaz was in a wonderful layered Turkish ensemble, which below as she is being laced into a corset by one of the lovely folks from Eeldrytch Armouree.

Now for the photographs, enjoy! [info]alabastardragon has a few that He'll be posting with the survey I just did, as soon as He can, busy time of year for Us.

Even [info]platinum_malfoy has decided to speak out on the latest unfortunate HP casting mishap in a rare post today. We are indignant, but ever thankful that We've got the very best Narcissas and can ignore this unfortunate movie mishap.

It's Scorpio time, so step aside world, Malfoy freight train coming through. It has certainly been Our month, busy though it's been. I now know how it feels to get one's ultimate wish, and it's even better than I expected, and too good for public consumption right now, We're just enjoying life. All you have to know is that it's very good, very very good, and it just may prove We are the true heirs of Slytherin. I wish to send out a huge thank you to the friends who have been there with Us, fighting with Us and for Us, you who have been there unwaveringly, We wouldn't be here without you. You know who you are, We certainly do.

Hallowe'en tonight, and We'll be celebrating with the usual suspects in the expected place, wreaking Our own brand of havoc and looking fabulous as We do.

Thee are many new and fabulous fiends on this LJ and I would like to welcome you, and thank you long timers for sticking around. I enjoy My LJ fiend list, and so many of you have become real life fiends as well, whether near or far from The Manor. Most of you are connected in some way to the HP fandom and costuming, a world ranging from wonderful to bugnuts crazy and back, but Our little corner of the fandom is all good people.

We, being who We are, all too often are both blessed and cursed to be shown the not so pretty sides of people that are often kept well hidden from the world, but in the end the cream always rises above such peasantry. Many of Our closest friends came to Us after being warned about Us initially, but they considered the source, sought for themselves, and turned into fast friends. I've said this before and it bears repeating ... I am often overwhelmed by the support and friendship offered Us, considering we are out there playing the bad guys, the villains ;-) There is a more detailed diatribe on this subject over on MySpace, TheAlabastard, but I'll paraphrase here because it too bears repeating.

I take pride in being a civil person; call Me haughty or arrogant, whatever you will, but I try to keep an aura of civility about and sense of humour, makes it a lot easier getting on in the world. At My age I haven't that need to prove anything or be liked by all. However, I do expect a basic civility from everyone, rudeness shows a certain lack of control, that one cannot keep one's emotions or mouth in check. I don't like everyone I meet, some are downright obnoxious and loathsome, some have been horrid to Us, many approach Us already on the defensive and with many assumptions. Regardless, I will always be civil in public, even when telling you where to go, and I expect civility from all. It's not that difficult, and it signifies an adult in a world teeming with overgrown children lacking in the social skills. Anyway, more important is a huge thank you to all who have made Our experience in the HP fandom so wonderful. We love to play The Malfoys, each time is better than the last, more fun, and it's largely because of you who interact with us and make it so much fun.

Gacked from the journal of The Ladydragonfly and worth repeating here: Live with intention, walk to the edge. Choose with no regrets. Appreciate your friends.

Random ... but while cleaning out old email files, I came across this, a friend's description of Yours truly evil as an old man. I found it amusing, and likely very accurate, so I will store it here for posterity.

I see him in my mind when he's really old, maybe 90 or so. Incredibly thin, practically a walking skeleton with skin paper thin and dead pale, long white hair pulled back in a pony tail. His cheekbones would be so pronounced it'd be almost painful looking, and I imagine him wearing an elaborate velvet smoking jacket/robe over a thick swearer, scarf around his neck sort of ascot style. I figure he'd be someplace hot like southern California or Florida, because knowing his propensity for feeling chilled now, by then he'll be freezing if it's less than 80 degrees. ;)

I picture him sitting on an old velvet settee in a room filled like a dusty antique store with piles of stuff that he's collected over the years. I'd imagine he'd have a silver topped cane at his side that he raps on the floor when he wants something or to make a point when talking. People would come to visit him, and it'd be like having an audience with the Queen mother. He'd ramble about his life and adventures and wave his hand langorously around at particularly interesting artifacts in the room and look generally haughty and snotty. :)

EDIT: of course, I won't be alone, Draco will be right by My side, holding court with Me.

SURVEYAGE:

If you could have one thing right now what would it be? I got My wish this week, and I'm not telling right now, neener neener neener.

Are you keeping a big secret right now? Oh Yes, yes I am. Just know that it’s a very good thing.

Is money important to you? Money can buy the time and freedom to live and do as one wishes, so yes.

Do you prefer to be around people, or by yourself? It varies, I could be around Draco forever and I don’t get crowded. I like hanging out with friends but I tend to need a lot of alone time otherwise. Luckily I have wonderful and understanding friends.

Does internet gossip ever end in you sitting in tears at the computer desk? Nope, I’m used to it, it’s always the same old things and the same old people, often crossing the line from gossip into public slander, but it can’t really touch Us, and the kind of friend who would believe anything they hear is not the kind of person I want around Me or Mine. What better barometer of character in those around Us?

Where is the furthest place you've traveled? Ages ago I took the train to Russia and back.

What jewelry do you wear ALL the time? Our Snake pendant necklaces never come off.

Describe your bed – Pod

Do you have tattoos, piercings? - Three tattoos so far, more to come. Piercings don't interest me.

What is your secret guaranteed weeping movie? Somewhere in Time, or Powder.

What is your ideal marriage location? - By the Sea.

Does the thought of marriage scare you? Not anymore.

Favourite fabric? - soft leather.

Have you ever been in a play? - Many. I love acting, just not so fond of your average theatre people and the politics. I cannot relax around that kind of scene, and thus cannot act freely, so I stick to groups I like now, because I can.
