That's right it's Monday, and that means Drunk and Nerdy down at Retro's Bar.

It's gonna be a ghastly night of fun and trivia when it's a death themed night. With celebrities dropping left and right over the week...Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson, and Billy Mays, someone needs to step up and make trivia light of it all.

Rounds for tonight include...

-What Would You Pay?...an infomercials round

You're not going to get a dead trivia fix like this around town except at Retro's. Where drink specials are on, and where Retro's is now serving pizza.

Quiz starts at 8pm
Retro's is located at the corner of Constitution and Wyoming

Abandoned?
I gather that this community is abandoned by its remaining maintainer. That sucks.

this is the video that gets people annoyed, guaranteed!
(DID ANYONE NOTICE THE FLY SURVIVED) president obama fighting a protesting fly that happened to be flying near-by...a conspiratorial assassination of the third kind before it had a chance to speak its truth.

Looking for a fiber spinner...
I am looking for someone who knows how to take fiber and spin it... whatever that pastime is called, lol.

I have lots of ideas brewing and would like someone to collaborate with since I have no spinning skills at all, and I need someone to get me from raw fiber to yarn product.

The ideas: I want to spiff up my carved antler and bone jewelery. I usually just offer the pendants on chains or deer silk. Which looks so boring! So I was thinking- why not use some of my sheep's wool. Or my dog's shed fur (next spring, was dumb and didn't think of spinning her fur until now). Or that dead coyote's fur. Or this fur from two really-bad-quality tanuki tails. Or my donkey's hair.

Why not?

But I need this raw material spun! If we can work out an exchange of somesort (I got 3 bags of wool, and some donkey hair to trade for services...)? I can also, of course, advertise any of your products alongside my own.

So... email or reply here if you're interested in this. :) I'm located in the south valley if that makes a difference (though obviously, I'll have to come to you since you have the spinner).

Hip Stitch Sewing Lounge
Hey there - some of my clothing and accessories are being featured at Hip Stitch, 7001 San Antonio NE, Suite P. I'm their "artist of the month" for June! I have some things in their store that I usually sell online: Indiscretion and Haute Indiscretion. If you've never been there - they have a lounge and a sewing area with about 5 machines, I think, and a couple of sergers and have some fun sewing classes. They may have more machines than that, every time I go there another one seems to appear....

They also sell fabric and they are having a big sale from June 6-13. I bought fabric from them not too long ago, but I will be going back for more! They have cool stuff like this:

An Underground Guide to Alburquerque

(We're on Facebook now. Come say hi!)

I'm doing a scavenger hunt...and I need to find in Albuquerque...

1) A building that is more than 4 stories tall and has some kind of observatory deck on the roof.

2) A building that has more than 13 floors, but the button for the 13th floor is not on the button panel (sometimes the 13th floor is left off because it's considered bad luck or some such thing).

I have to take a photo on the roof and a photo of the elevator panel. Is it possible to find both of these things in Albuquerque - where I can legally access it, of course ;)

Monday's Pub Trivia

That's right it's the second installment of Drunk and Nerdy Pub Trivia with your hosts James (Mother F**king) Roach and Guy Wilson.

What's going on with all the police tonight? I must have seen nearly a dozen police cars with their lights on scattered all over the city, and another half dozen just cruising.

I drove from I-40 and San Mateo to Paradise Hills, and they were racing from place to place every few miles. Then when I was just about home, they had one of the quiet, residential streets here in Paradise Hills blocked off, with more cars speeding off towards Rio Rancho. Any help?

This is a Public Service Announcement (sorry, we're all out of guitars).
I just returned from NMAS where I got my bi-annual HIV test. While I was there I discovered that on Monday evenings between 5 and 7 they also offer free tests for Hepatitis C tests and Syphilis tests. If you get the Syphilis test THEY WILL PAY YOU $10.

I urge everyone to take advantage of this service, even if you don't need the $10. Syphilis is on the rise in Albuquerque. People are getting to tertiary symptoms, which are the final symptoms before death. This disease is fully curable with antibiotics. Please repost this on any local forums you are involved with and if you know anyone who is a sex worker or who frequents sex workers please make sure they are aware of this service. (Apparently the rate of infection is super high in sex workers.)

Guys if you're worried about the "dick ripper" swab test, don't it is just a simple blood draw.

I know, going to an office to get blood drawn isn't the sexiest thing ever, but a healthy community is a sexy community.

Here is their website: http://www.nmas.net/ Their physical address is 625 Truman St. NE.

FREE Business Card or Résumé DESIGN
Howdy ABQ Underground,

I'm a print designer in downtown looking to give something back to the community every Friday afternoon.

Are you unemployed, recently or otherwise, or stuck at a job you hate and looking for something better? A killer business card and résumé can make all the difference in separating your name and information from the rest of the pile. And that's why, for the duration of the Recession, I'm offering FREE business card or résumé design to those of you who need it -- and can't afford it.

This is just a way to return the favors Al Burque has done me over the years.

Find out everything else at http://www.gourmetbookdesign.com/friday/

Doomsayer's Digest's Spring Issue now for SALE!!!
The Subtlety or Force Encampment has released the third issue of its internationally sold quarterly periodical, Doomsayer's Digest, and it is now available for purchase. There are only 210 in print with less than 150 remaining!

Doomsayer's Digest attempts to bring an academic rigor into esoteric studies and creative writing. It does not feature poetry, art, or editorials, but specializes its pages to a scientific pursuit of hermetica. It combines traditionalist analysis, academic standards, and subject matter relevant to Thelemic culture, history, and interests.

In Volume 2, Issue 1, 2009's Spring issue, there are three featured articles, three rare Crowley reprints, and one Ol' Skoo Rap Tree 4 Life.

Here's the skinny:

Vol. 2, Iss. 1, Spring of 2009 (IVxvii)

Included-

"Formula to Renounce Slave Religion", T Polyphilus' response to A.C's suggestion to CS Jones that he develop a public and group rite to allow people "who want to have anything to do with us" to formally renounce all the ideas listed in Liber Al Ch 3 v 49-56.

"Paleo-Thelema", T Polyphilus' discussion of Crowley's "antecedents of Thelema" and others who came before 666 and announced the prominence of Will and Love in the human condition.

"Translating Liber Al", a discussion of the issue of translation as it relates to interpretation, difficulties of translating The Book of the Law, and testimonies from the Frater Superiors' Representatives of Deutschland and Italia.

Also included:
da Ol' Skoo Rap Tree 4 Life! by David Braren,
A Blizzard in the Saharah by Aleister Crowley,
Antecedents of Thelema by Aleister Crowley, and
The Soul of the Desert by Aleister Crowley!

I do personally hope yall enjoy it and get yourself a copy and a subscription. They're on sale for $5 (plus shippin') a pop.

You can order a copy for yourself at the Subtlety or Force Encampment's website: sof-oto.org.

Subscriptions are also available and highly recommended! If you haven't gotten yourself an issue yet, get a subscription and let me know you'd like back issues. I'll send you the first three and Summer's when it arrives! Subscriptions end up saving you about 20% off the regular price!
