Invading My Space
Do you know anyone who is a member of the online social community MySpace? Yes the world has locked themselves behind closed doors, spending much of their time on my space developing relationships with voiceless, faceless, megabyte friends, with the hopes of gathering as many friends as they possibly can. These are friends that they may never see, friends that will never truly be there for them, and a friend that can be easily erased at the push of a delete button on the keyboard.
Yes many of us have found ourselves with the door closed to our room, locking the world out so we can spend time discussing our problems with megabyte friends, and listening to the advice given by satellite television entities; we’re panting and searching, hoping to find someone, anyone, something, somewhere to give us some help…. STOP!!!
Jesus tells us that He desires for us to enter our room, close the doors and spend time with him in prayer. God wants to have one on one fellowship with you and I. But have we not realized that the world has filled our space with it’s temporary remedies to happiness. The place that was to be set aside for you and the Lord, has been replaced. The closet that you used to pray in, the Bible that you used to read; all replaced. Meanwhile the God of the universe stands outside of the door with one desire; to invade yours and my space so He can fulfill our life. I encourage you, shut off the computer, go into your room, and spend some time with the Lord. He truly wants to be your friend forever.

Disoriented in the Dark
Have you ever woke up in the middle of the night disoriented, unsure of where you are, and in some cases unsure of who you are. The other night I found my self waking up in a panic around 3:00 in the morning. The room was dark, but that didn’t stop me from getting up, and frantically looking throughout my home for my baby whom I thought was lost somewhere in the house. I had to look at the Clock and convince myself that it was late and the baby was asleep, but while lurking through the halls of my dark house my foot caught the corner of the couch and OUCH!!! Jeez, first I’m disoriented, and then in pain, this night is turning out just great. Finally I turned on the light, and realized, the toys had been put away, the house was quiet, and my family was safely asleep.
you know, there are times when we’re lurking around in life with feelings of disorientation, unsure of where we are, who we are, and even where we’re going. And just when we think we’ve got it all figured out, life throws us some blows knocking us to the ground, which leaves us wondering…Why? Listen we need to stop assuming that we’ve got it all figured out, and allow the light of Jesus to shine on our life.
Proverbs 3:5 says: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
So listen if you’ve found yourself to be disoriented in life, rely on the Lord, allow Him to direct your steps, and not only will you avoid a nasty fall, but God will lead you blessing on earth, and ultimately to an eternal life.

Lost in the Desert
Have you ever found yourself lost? A few years back I was driving from Ohio to California, and somehow I became lost in the middle of the desert. There were no signs, and no rest stops, and when the four lane Highway I was on became a two lane highway, I became a little frantic. But the majority of my fear came when this paved road turned into an all dirt road, this is when I knew I was lost.
I noticed that the tumble weeds appeared much bigger, the Joshua trees and cactus appeared to be laughing at me, and the gas tank needle; yep I was nearing the last of my fuel reserve. I thought my journey had ended, I began curling myself into the fetal position so I could cry, But Thankfully that was unnecessary. A few minutes later I ran into a fellow who was able guide my way out of the desert, and why? Because he knew the area, he knew the terrain, he knew something I didn’t know; how to get back on track.
You know sometimes life may feel like we have wondered into an uncharted desert terrain of life, we can easily feel lost at times, unsure of what to do in life; so where do we turn when the road is narrowing? Scripture says in the book of James 1:5 if any man lacks wisdom let him ask of God, who gives openly. That’s right, if you’ve found yourself to be wondering the desert, hopeless, and aimless, call on the lord who has the wisdom to help you find hope, and life again; and why? Because like my friend in the desert, God knows the area of your life, he knows where you are, and He know how to get you back on track; ultimately God wants you to find your way home.

Carwash
I can still remember the day when I first got my drivers license. I remember going to the drive in, my first speeding ticket, and the craziest thing, going through a carwash with the windows rolled down. True it was a crazy thing to do, but the truth was that the inside of the car needed a wash just as bad as the outside, so into the carwash I went. The only problem was that the soft looking tastles, were hard, and they stung as they hit my arm, the hot wax got all over the inside of my car, and the soap suds were hanging off of the roof of the interrior. It’s a fun memory to look back on, but not one that I will ever relive.
You know sometimes we focus so much on how clean and pretty we look on the outside; brushing our hair and teeth. Putting on the nicest clothes, and wearing the best smelling cologne. But too often we neglect to seek a good cleaning for what’s inside of us. Yes our hearts that we so prodly proclaim is the home of Jesus, may very well be in need of a cleaning, and though the outside may be appealing to the world around you, is the lord truly content with what lies on the inside you? I encourage you to come before the lord and ask him to clense you of your sins, and iniquities. Roll down the windows of your hearts, so that you’ll be fully clean from the inside out. Psalm 51:1

The Diaper Goo Parade
Have you ever changed a dirty diaper, and finding yourself amazed with the results, decided to parade the diaper for all to see? I know it sounds kind of disgusting doesn’t it; it’s not usually something that we think about doing, but then again; never say never. The other day I found myself amazed with my findings while changing my baby’s diaper. I know what you’re thinking; “Come on Joe, grow up, change the diaper and move on! Don’t parade it for the household to see!”. But with that said, let me say that many people today parade dirty diapers, and don’t even know it; let me explain.
Scripture says in the book of Isaiah that all of our righteousness is as filthy rags. Yet I’ve seen plenty of Christians Parading the streets with their heads held high, claiming to be the greatest Christian with all of the greatest deeds. Truth is, their Parading that dirty diaper, when their in need of a cleaning. If this sounds like you, then I encourage you to stop boasting in yourself and in your great deeds, and rather do as Paul did; Boast in the Lord and in His Righteousness.

Trick or Treat
Beware of the gouls, and the freaks that run the neighborhood one night out of the year. They’ll terrorize your animals, ruin your grass, and their out to get one thing; and that one thing is in your house. Lock the doors, and turn out the lights, maybe they’ll go away. Thats right, Trick of treaters are on their way. We all make the mad dash to the store to give away the best candy that will impress the kids on the block, in hopes that we wont be the home known as the “crapy candy” home. But have we neglected the ones sent to our home all year long?
Scripture says that GOd brings people our way, that we may be a blessing to. And though we dont want to be known to the neighborhood as someone who gives away the cheap candy, is heaven watching as we poorly distribute the Love of God? I encourage you to give away the best of what God’s given you. And im sure that you’ll be known as the home on the block who gives away the everlasting, most satisfying sweetness of the love of Christ.

The Talent Show
When I was younger our church had a talent show. I was proud to demonstrate my talent of singing and playing the guitar at the age of 8. Some jeered, and others Cheered, but despite the crowd and their response, we enjoyed the oppertunity to use our talent.
God has given to each one of us a talent and this stage of life in which to use our talents for His glory. And though this life can become busy, we must’nt ignore Gods gifts, and our ability to use them. You can be assured that not only will you have a heavenly audience, but that they’ll be cheering, and requesting a continuous oncore.

Stinky Feet
Have you ever had a long day, then got home, removed your shoes, and noticed that you’ve chased your family away and left the pet’s to pass out? The look and smell of our feet can tell alot about what we’ve been doing throughout the day. Unfortunately, if the smell is to much to bear, no one will stick around to listen to your daily report. Romans 10:15 states that the feet of those who bring the good news of the Gospel have beautiful feet. So my question, How many people truly have beutiful feet according to the scriptural definition? Are you carrying the Good news of what Jesus has done for you daily?
I encourage you, at the end of the day go home, call the family together to take a good smell of your feet, if you’ve chased them away maybe you should re-examine where your feet have been. I know that’s foolish. But examine your steps just the same, and bring the Love of Jesus to the world so that you can be assured that your feet are not only beautiful, but odor free.

Dripping Irritability
Have you ever found yourself irritated? I know, I know that’s an obvious yes for all of us. I remember lying my head down on my pillow one night when all of a sudden I heard drip drip drip coming from the bathroom sink. That was a terrible nights sleep, but what was worst was my attitude in the situation throughout the night. I was angry, immpatient, frustrated, and quite the pill. My feelings in the situation I cant wait to hit that sink with a giant wrench tommorow, but then again we’ve all been there.
Sometimes life presents to us many oppertunities to manifest the fuit of the spirit in our lives. But when we find ourselves irritated by someone or something; well truth is we’d love to take a wrench to that person, or situation as well. The scary revelation is the attitude that is dwelling on the inside of us. Listen we need to inspect our fruit. I encourage you, learn to be patient, loving, and longsuffering. SO that when you or I hear a dripping over and again in our life, we’ll use the the fruit of the spirit to be a bright light shining the grace of God.

Keep Knocking
Luke 11:9 tells us that there is great reward when we are persistant in our prayer’s. The scripture likens our prayers to a persistant person knocking on the door of his neighbor. This person will not leave untill their friend opens the door. Well, a few weeks, someone was knocking on my homes door at about 10:30pm, and just would not leave untill, someone opened the door. The only problem was that I wasnt home at the time, so of course this left my wife and kids a little scared. I rolled into the driveway just in time to meet this man and let him know that he was in the wrong place; still I was facinated with this mans persistance in continuously knocking and ringing the doorbell. Scripture tells us that we should be as persistant in our prayers. I encourage you to keep on knocking on the door of the Lord, and not only will he open the door, but you will have fellowship with the God of the universe.

Helicopter Lights
A few months back I recieved a telephone call late at night informing me that a man being chased on foot had jumped my fence, and was in my backyard. three minutes later a helicopter was flying overhead; peering into my backyard to see if indeed the man was still back there. I found myself a little embarassed, because though there was no man to see, there was a pile of weeds, and a big yard full of junk and dirt. I’ve since bagan a little clean up, because I never know when the Helicopter will be back to take a look.
You know, sometimes in life it’s easy to keep things hidden from plain sight. Our life looks so good from the front yard, but behind closed doors, it’s a different story. Sin can find itself comfortably residing behind the closed doors of our life, but beware, the helicopter can come at anytime to shine a light on the mess that has been hidden for so long. Clean up your life so that you can be truly pleasing to the Lord in all areas of your life; because though the neighbors may not know whats in your back yard; the Lord has a clear view.
They called me Bubbles (drop the weight)
Growing up wasn’t always the easiest. I weighed about 195 Lbs in the sixth grade, and thus inherited the title “Bubbles”. But the day that I found myself too heavy to climb up the end of a rope, was the day I made the decision to drop the weight. I really wanted to climb this rope, and have the strength to do so, however the excess weight around my mid area, had to go. I placed myself on a diet and six months later, i was a lean cuisine; we’ll I was lean to say the least.
Sometimes in our life we find ourselves weighed down, and unable to manage our life, take care of our families, or our responsibilities. There is so much that we’d love to accomplish but the weight of sin, offences, and past failures makes it so difficult to pursue future dreams, and goals; so we give up. Listen, its time to drop the weight. Hebrews 12:1 says to lay aside the weight which easily ensnares us, so that we can run this race with endurance. So I encourage you throw it off, and run this race with confidence in Christ.

Genuine Faith Video Podcast
I posted a podcast a few months ago titled “Genuine trials reveals Genuine faith” this video podcast is a blurb from a sermon taught in Riverside, Ca based on that same topic; and trust me, I’m a corn ball at times, just watch and see.
Going thru the trials of this life can be most difficult. But there is purpose. 1 Peter 1:7 says that within the trials of this life our genuine faith will be revealed. that is when the fake facade of our faith is peeled away, and the only thing that is left is that which is true.
Genuine trials, will reveal Genuine faith, which will in turn reveal a truly Genuine Life

Watching Scary Movies
Do you enjoy watching a scary movie? You grab your popcorn, and sit at the edge of your seat ready to scream, while throwing the popcorn bucket into the air; drowning your friends in buttery delight. However when you get home, the reality of life has found you full of fear; can I pay my Bills, will I get that job, and can I stay healthy?
Fear can easily find itself invading our life. But wait a minute; I thought you liked fear. Listen up; we need to be careful what we choose to watch. If you dont want fear in your life, stop breeding fear in your spirit; stop planting seeds of fear, and rather plant seeds of faith that your confidence would be Whole in Christ Jesus.

God’s Answering Machine
As life can be so busy, it’s easy to forget our time in prayer. So what should we do? Well in a day where intimate face to face relationship is non existant with email, telephone, and voicemail services, our mindset with prayer is quite similar. “If we feed God a message now and then, maybe he’ll be happy”. But listen, God wants that intimate relationship with us, Hebrews 4:16 says to come boldly to His throne, not leave a message. So I encourage you to spend more time in prayer, God may already know your needs, but the greatest need that God knows you and I need, is intimate time with Him.
