I hope someone can comment on this. I am an asian guy so that takes the race factor out of this question/comment. I'm just wondering a couple of things. #1. Why do they put Venus and Serena in the same side of the draw after they both reached the Wimbledon Finals and on top of it in the quarterfinals ? I know the seeding is the way it is but these majors don't need to go by straight seeding just like Wimbledon doesn't. Everyone knows that injury free, these 2 are probably on every surface with the exception of clay, 2 of the top 3 players on any given day but yet Venus gets a 7 and a 5 seed respectively. Although it was a great final, one could argue that Venus could and should have beaten Serena in successive Grand Slam tournaments being ahead in both sets and 5-2 in the second set tiebreaker. When will these 2 get the respect they deserve ? Enough already with ranking all these pretty 'ova or 'ovich's in front of them. These 2 should never play each other unless its the final and should always be as long as they are still playing actively and well on opposite sides of the draw. In fairness not only to themselves but to others who have to play them who are seeded higher than them but in reality and to the knowledgeable public know that they are actually underdogs. I would love comments on the matter.

You've got Alex Smith, Ronnie Brown, Cadillac Williams, and Cedric Benson to name a few (1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th overall picks) have all been injury prone and haven't produced. The only good picks of the draft it seems like are Braylon Edwards, Shawn Merriman, and DeMarcus Ware just to name a few that have actually been to the pro bowl since then. So is it safe to say that the class was a bad one?

After being able to see a few teams in action in week one, what are your predictions for the following categories?
1. AFC and NFC Dark Horse Award (Team that shocks everyone)
2. First Overall Draft Pick (Last Place)
3. Most Highly Contested division
4. "What Happened?" Team
5. And Finally... your Super Bowl picks and Runner-Ups
Mine are...
1. AFC: The Bills. They had an awesome offseason and, with a potential Bradyless Patriots, that division could be wide open
NFC: The Falcons. Michael Turner will lead them to victory, and, for the last five years (correct me if I'm wrong) in that division, the team who got last place the year prior won the division.
2. The Rams. They looked like a college team in Week 1, and while that isn't a basis to predict a team's entire season, the only 11-man squad that looks worse than the Rams offense is the Rams defense.
3. Like I said earlier, the AFC east. Without Tom Brady, the Pats are pretty average, and with all of the additions to the Jets team such as Favre, Faneca and Jenkins, and the Bills lurking in the shadows, this one could be wide open. Don't count the Dolphins out right away either. Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown could make a powerful Tandem to ease the pressure off of Chad Pennington, and while unlikely, it is feasible.
4. The Patriots. The next Super Bowl Hangover victims could be without Brady, and his backup just won't be able to fill his shoes. Laurence Maroney isn't good enough to take pressure off of him, and Moss and Welker will have a lot more work to do, and Bellichick (spelling) is going to have to update his entire game plan to adjust to the huge chasm in their passing game. If Brady comes back, it'll be the Packers adjusting to the new quarterback in Aaron Rodgers.
5. I see the Jacksonville Jaguars beating the Dallas Cowboys 34-17. I love David Garrard and Maurice Jones-Drew never ceases to impress me, and they have a good enough defense to hold up. Their line is pretty solid as well, and should they stay healthy, they have the makings of a super bowl team. The Cowboys have a bitter taste in their mouths just like every team the Giants beat in their Cinderella Playoff run, and they have the weapons on offense to perfectly compliment a not-too-shabby defense. All this Tony Romo tabloid crap is just that. Crap. He's got nothing but football on his mind now.
So there are my 2008 NFL Predictions, tell me what you think and give me yours. Tell why too!

Watching movies about historical events long passed has become almost routine in high school classes. So needless to say I was not jumping for joy when told we were watching Nicholas Hytner’s The Crucible, written by Arthur Miller. However, just the first minutes of this movie proved to me this was not going to be the everyday dry, boring class movie.
The Crucible shows us the emotion and senselessness of the 1692 Salam Witch Trials in Salam Massachusetts. I think the movies characters crossed the line from dry history movie to attention grabber. A character the story follows is Abigail Williams (Winona Ryder) a young girl who’s strong personality and selfish ways keeps you guessing throughout the movie. Just watching Abigail lie and cheat is enough to make you want to time warp and warn everybody of her ways.

Open Question: Can I pull off liquid eyeliner?
I've been told I bear a resemblance to Hayley Williams of Paramore (though you cant tell by the picture i'm providing), and I know that I do have very similar coloring than her. i don't have a face that can handle lots of makeup, in fact i just wear eyeliner & eyeshadow now.
I've been wondering if I can pull off maybe yellow or orange liquid eyeliner. I've seen pictures of Hayley Williams with an orange-red liquid liner on, and yellow as well.
Could you look at this picture and tell me if you think a liquid liner (NOT black or dark) would flatter me? also, some tips on how to do it and what colors might be good for me?

I'm asking this because i am. I'm light skinned and get asked or assumed that i am mixed race all the time because i am light skinned with soft curly hair and asian looking eyes plus, when i was little my hair was a kind of gingery brown. i know my mother is 1/4 chinese, 1/8 caucasian scottish and the rest black Jamaican Caribbean. anyways celebrities like Vanessa Williams (Ugly Betty) and Tyra Banks look kind of mixed too although both their parents are black. How comes? I really need to know this because i feel kind of different.

The Knicks are bad the last 7 years, but the Knicks have a better overall roster than pretty much all the superior teams in the league w/ exception to Spurs, Pistons, Celtics,Suns, Jazz, Rockets, and Hornets.
The problem w/ the Knicks is not talent the problem with our team is chemistry and the fact we do not have it. We cannot listen to the coach and the players play for themselves. However, with all our problems we are still on eof the most watched teams in the league and have a shitload of sellouts. And 2 of our alltime teams have been ranked as the top 5 best teams ever so stfu. Also, we have HOF'ers by the shitload just like the Lakers and Celtics.
Anyways.
Pg. Stephon Marbury - With all his arrogance and lack of determination could still be one of the best pg's if he wanted to. Only player besides Oscar Robertson to have career average of 20 ppg and 8 apg. Is much better than Derek Fisher, Jordan Farmar, Sun Yue
Sg. Jamal Crawford - Kobe is better, but unlike Kobe Jamal Crawford actually can pass he has been improving his apg totals each year. This year Kobe had 5 apg only because his team produced and it wasnt all just him, plus Pau is a huge acquisition.
Sf. Q. Rich - Is a better defender and perimeter shooter than Lamar Odom. Q. Rich has guarded Manu,Melo, LeBron, etc all very well. Plus, he can score as much as Oodm in a fast paced system ie Mike D'Antoni remember Q.Rich is Phx led the NBA in 3pt made. His problem is he is inconsistent kinda like Odom he goes through the motions.
PF. Zach Randolph - Is just as good or better than Pau Gasol. Gasol has a better feel for winning which is why he took the Grizzlies to the playoffs 3 times. But, its unfair to say Zach isnt a winner cause he only played with Roy 1 year as a rookie. If he had Roy for his breakout sophmore year or any players Pau had in Memphis like J. Williams, Posey, Bonzi Wells he could have made a playoff. Zach Randolph as a Blazer scored 23 ppg and 11 rpg those stats are better than KG, TD, Amare that year.
C. Eddy Curry - With all his problems rebounding he is still better than Andrew Bynum. Eddy Curry is an animal he led the NBA in points in the paint a year ago. Has been top 5 in fg% for like 4 years straight coming in 2nd one year to Shaq when he was a younger diesel. His problem is his lack to stay in shape and this ...
